Electric Underfloor Heating Systems – Heated Mat

  • Underfloor heating mesh

Underfloor heating mesh are widely used. All you need to do is roll out the mesh until it’s used up. Since electric floor heating systems use a lower temperature than standard radiators or baseboards, heating costs are reduced. Because the heat source is spread throughout the floor, it is more evenly distributed and heated floors provide significantly higher levels of comfort.

Electric floor heating systems have a low upfront installation cost and zero maintenance requirements. This gives you the luxurious comfort of warm floors, and the benefit of an invisible, inaudible and maintenance-free heating system. This system is ideal for kitchens, lounges, dining rooms and other living areas.

This is Highly Practical, Easy to install, simple and economical way of adding warmth to your home and hotel. Underfloor heating membrane

Corewarm heating membrane is a light weight, crack-isolation and waterproofing membrane that also provide the ultimate protection of your tiles and underfloor radiant heating system from damage caused by moisture and floor movement. The Corewarm heating membrane can be installed over the entire subfloor. Once the membrane is installed, you can install the cables using the ‘studs’ in the membrane to hold them in place. The studs in the membrane also work as a measuring tool, keeping cables the correct distance apart. Corewarm membranes also allow the heat from the underfloor heating system to be spread evenly across the floor surface. This increases the overall effectiveness of the heating system, reducing your costs.

Frequently asked questions

It is well known that underfloor heating is more energy efficient form of heating as compared to radiators. Underfloor heating requires less energy to run as compared to radiators. In the electric floor heating thin heating cables or heating mats are laid under the finished floor.

Whereas radiators heat the air through convection, by drawing cool air and warming it and passes it through the radiators to the rooms.

Benefits of underfloor heating over radiators:

  • Underfloor heating heats the room uniformly.
  • Better air circulation.
  • Underfloor heating is not noisy like radiators.
  • If you are short in space, underfloor heating is the perfect solution for you as it can’t occupy your wall space like radiators.
  • More safe as compared to the radiators.

Absolutely you can, it's a good option for heating the home and over the time can save money. It also distributes heat uniformly so there is no cold air pockets in the house. The other benefit is no air blowing which reduces indoor allergies. Underfloor heating is a perfect solution for the rooms having small areas. It can also be used as a primary source of heating if the insulation of your house is low. If you are looking for the heating solution to keep you and your dears warm and comfortable all winter, electric underfloor heating is the best and cost effective option for you.

Underfloor (radiant) heating system is more effective as compared to baseboard and forced air heating systems because it eliminates the chances of duct losses. Underfloor heating runs at 28-30°C so it consumes less energy as compared to other heating systems. One more benefit of radiant floor heating system is that it is installed in zones. This means you have a separate thermostat for each room/ area. It does not only provide customized control but it also makes the system even more energy-efficient because people can keep the system off in spaces that are not in use.

Corewarm electric floor heating system is the best choice as a primary heating source in a room, house or in offices. Corewarm electric floor heating system uses electrical cables designed/ customized in the best efficient manner to generate heat and warm your floor or act as a primary heat source, replacing your radiators. If you have an old house with low insulation, it is the best to install electric underfloor heating as a primary source of heat.

In electric floor heating system, you have a custom control over different areas and temperature using a thermostat:

  • Not every person require same temperature comfort needs.
  • You may want temperature of some area or room higher than the other area or room
  • You have the option to heat that area only you want and that keep the cost down.

Underfloor heating laid under the floor so there is no exposed heating elements like other heating system it eliminates the chances of accidently contact with it.
Underfloor heating does not need very high temperature in order to be effective unlike immersion heaters. The maximum temperature of the indoor underfloor heating is 40°C, so the wires that carries current does need not to get very hot.
Unlike radiators, electric underfloor heating does come with hard metal edges which is unsafe for children.
Electric underfloor heating is also safe for the peoples having allergies as it warms the body in the room rather than the air.
The coating material used for manufacturing the cable is also flame retardant.

Corewarm underfloor heating is very cost-effective, it costs less than 12 US cents to run 1m² of electric underfloor heating system for continuous 6 hours.

Areas where heat losses are more and unavoidable, Corewarm 200W system can provide reliable and robust solution. At the same time it is very important that the floor base is well insulated. This can’t only reduce the heat-up time but increase the efficiency, thereby making this system cheaper to run.

Yes, you can install the underfloor heating without raising the floor height. Based on the inputs from various installers all over, we found that Corewarm heating system is one of the best choice. The reason being the design and manufacturing team at Corewarm takes care of the finest points to customize and suit the field conditions whether it is mesh heating or membrane heating or anything different. The thickness of the heating mat/ cable varies from 1.80 mm to 5.0 mm depending upon the usage.

It depends on the amperage limit of the thermostat that you are using with the heating mats. You can connect as many mats up to the maximum ampere limit of the thermostat.

The width of Corewarm underfloor heating mat is generally 500mm with various lengths.

The thickness of Corewarm heating cables is 2 mm to 5 mm and the tile adhesive will be 5mm. You should also allow for the insulation board and tile, if used.

Output heat of underfloor heating depends on the wattage of the system, which also determines how fast your system will heat up. To heat a standard room with well insulation 150 w/m² or greater is preferable. For the area having high heat loss or the area having lots of fixed furniture like kitchen 200 w/m² is preferable. 200 w/m² heats the area faster than the 150 w/m².

The heating of the floor depends on the number of factors like wattage of the heating system, insulation, height of the room.

Yes, you can. It depends on the amperage limit of the thermostat that you are using with the heating mats. You can connect as many mats up to the maximum ampere limit of the thermostat.

As long as the thermostat and the sensor of the floor have been installed properly, a temperature of around 28°C will be reached, your heated floor is not feel too hot to touch.

Yes, you can use any type of heating system whether mesh heating or Al-foil heating with wooden flooring. Al-foil is preferable because its thickness is very little with uniform heating and foil as ground protection.

The power rating of Corewarm aluminum foil heating mats for use with underwood are rated as 150 w/m² and 200 w/m².

The width of Corewarm underfloor heating mat is 500mm with lengths 2.0 m to 24.0 m and area 1.0 m² to 12.0 m².

Free-standing furniture is ok to place over the area where heating mat/ cable is installed but flat bottom furniture, thick carpets, large pet beds, beanbags and rubber backed rugs are not recommended to place on top of an underfloor heating system. When these things are placed on top of the heating mats, the heat doesn’t dissipate into the room, causing cables overheating may lead to possible short-circuit and fire hazard.

You may trim the heating mat but it is not recommended to cut the heating cable, this will cause the negative impact by overheating the cable or resulting in the heating system failure.

Yes, it’s possible to install underfloor heating by yourself. However an electrician will need to connect your system to the electricity supply.

The underfloor heating System is designed so that the floor surface will be comfortably warm and will never get hot to touch. Thermostat monitor the floor temperature and turns the system off when the floor reaches the desired temperature and on the system when it begin to cool.

Yes, you can change the temperature setting through thermostat. Please check the complete information on the thermostat manual.

Electric floor heating systems heat up quickly usually within an hour with standard insulation board. It may take long time to heat up if you have non insulated thick concrete floor.
